Spirit is showing off this weekend at the Oyster Private Preview in London at St. Katharine Docks, in the shadow of the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. While we haven’t had the chance to complete the interior décor with our own personal items like throw cushions, blankets and accessories, the Oyster staff have done a great job of doing a little decorating for the preview – our “touches” are still a week away.
After the show on Monday she’ll be sailed back to Ipswich and made ready for the handover the following week – sea trials, systems explanations and a whole lot of questions and answers. At that point we spend a few days loading her up with personal gear, provisions and perhaps a bottle of wine or two.
On Monday, May 18th we cast off for the almost 1,900-nautical mile journey to Palma. Once we start, and If you’re really bored, you can track Spirit’s progress (real time) with the satellite tracker link on the right hand side of Spirit’s homepage at http://theyachtspirit.com
The first photo below was taken in early May of last year – the rest of the photos were taken by our crew, Tom and Hannah, at the preview event going on now in London. What a year!
